Irina Muraviova was born in St. Petersburg in 1952. She studied interior design at the Mukhina Art school.
Art, for Muraviova, is a spiritual journey. She devoted her life for many years to the teachings for Zen Buddhism, spending time in seclusion on an island near Vyborg, where she painted landscapes. In her exuberant works, the sky represents God, and the flora of the Earth--the humanity. Her creations are a subtle mix of Oriental and Western styles.
In 1992 Muraviova had a personal exhibition in St. Petersburg. Her works have been purchased by private collectors from Russia, Germany, Netherlands, France, and Belgium.
Most recently Muraviova has been attracted by the strict teachings of the Mormons, currently active in Russia. She plans to continue expressing her spiritual beliefs through her beautiful art.
