Irina Nikoliuck was born in St. Petersburg, Russia, in 1963. She studied applied art at the Mukhina Art School in St. Petersburg. After graduating, Irina worked as a designer at the St. Petersburg House of Fashion. She has not been painting professionally for very long, but she is a talented, growing artist.
Every summer Nikoliuck tries to spend some time painting at Gatchina, a beautiful town surrounding a czar's palace in the vicinity of St. Petersburg. Portraits of mysterious women and landscapes are her favorite subjects. Irina likes modern Russian art. She is especially impressed by the work of Sterligov, an important St. Petersburg painter, whose ideas about color and form have influenced all of her works.
Irina has taken part in several exhibitions in Russia and abroad. Her canvases have traveled to private collections in Germany, France, Russia, the United States, and Norway.
