Orekhov has had several personal exhibitions in galleries in the European part of Russia. His work is in the permanent collection of the Lvov Museum of Railroad History. Orekhov's detailed paintings of railroad cars and engines, as well as streetcars and trolleys come from his study of their structure and mechanical history. Throughout the Soviet period, the artist's work was picked by various prominent Communist party officials for their personal collections.
Growing up in the beautiful and freedom-loving Carpathian mountains, and then the industrial multicultural city of Lvov gave Orekhov a unique blend of themes for his watercolors.
About the "Lvov Streets" series:
"Because of Lvov's unique history as a multinational town, its art and architecture were closely linked with those of Western Europe, and, to a certain extent, the Balkan countries. The streets and alleys of Lvov so interweave themselves that even a person familiar with every turn can forget in which empire or which century he is walking - Polish, Austrian or Soviet, and now Ukrainian."
